About Us
The Jess’s’s’s are Jessica Keith and Jessamyn Fairfield, a theatrical improv duo who have performed across Europe including at the Edinburgh Fringe, Dublin Fringe, Improv Fest Ireland, Oslo Impro Fest, Belfast Improv Fest, Robin Hood International Improv Fest, GATHER Improv Fest, Moth and Butterfly Storytelling Festival, and the Hoopla UK and Ireland Improv Fest.
They have been performing together for over ten years, creating improvised one act plays with nuanced world-building and characters you care about

Presents Narrative Reconstruction and Other Tall Tales
Narrative Reconstruction and Other Tall Tales brought to the stage by BlackProv, weaves story and improv, in a celebration of humor and Black US culture. Gifted from the porches of Grandpa and Grandma, sipping on their sweet tea, Jamie Montgomery and Leann Johnson carry on the tradition of Black oral culture, amplifying a certain propensity for embellishment and reconstructing reality with an absurdity that will surprise and delight.
About Us
BlackProv came together in 2021 as a virtual show called “Barbershop.” Three Black men coached by a Black woman, played characters in a Black barbershop struggling to survive in a gentrifying neighborhood. After one cast member moved away and the shows went back to live, coach Leann joined the cast as a nail stylist creating havoc in the Barbershop’s world. Continued success on stage ensued and BlackProv ventured into new formats creating one called “Narrative Reconstruction and Other Tall Tales," highlighting storytelling embellishment that sometimes occurs in Black oral culture.
BlackProv performed at the ComedySportz World Championship (2023) with rave reviews and on other stages including ComedySportz Portland, Open Signal (Portland), Magenta Theater (Vancouver), and Echo Theatre (Portland). Jamie Montgomery, Leann Johnson, and Michael Buchanan make up the cast.
