Covid-19 Festival Guidelines
With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Improv Fest Ireland team strives to create as safe as space as possible to ensure that all festival participants and audience attendees can enjoy themselves with peace of mind. While Ireland has the highest vaccination uptake rate in the EU with 93% of the adult population vaccinated, like other countries Covid-19 is still in the community therefore health and safety is of utmost importance. Here are the Improv Fest Ireland Covid-19 guidelines:
COVID TESTING FOR INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS IN DUBLIN AIRPORT/DUBLIN PORT: From Friday 3rd December, in accordance with Irish border controls, all travellers to the Republic of Ireland are required to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test result on entry Those travelling with an antigen test result will need to have obtained it within 48 hours of departure, and those travelling with a PCR test will need to have obtained it within 72 hours of departure. Under the rules, no self-administered tests will be accepted. Incoming travellers are not required to isolate or quarantine unless they have been in Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa or Zimbabwe in the past 14 days.
VACCINATIONS REQUIRED: All festival performers, team members and audience attendee must be vaccinated. Proof of vaccination is required which must be in the form of the EU DCC or equivalent scanable national proof of vaccination for attendees outside the EU. (E.G. NHS vaccine passport). Performers, teachers and team members will be required to show proof of vaccination. Audience members certs will be checked prior to entry to the theatre.
TESTING AT THE FESTIVAL: All festival team members will be tested for Covid-19 each day of the festival. While not mandatory, we strongly encourage all festival participants to get tested too. Antigen tests are cheaply available from supermarkets and pharmacies. (Tesco around the corner from the festival also sells them)
MASK WEARING: In line with government regulations, masks must be worn in indoor venues with the exception of when seated for eating and drinking. Audience attendees must wear masks while seated in the theatre. Performers are not required to wear masks on stage or while in rehearsal.
IF YOU FEEL UNWELL: Any festival performer, team member or audience attendee who has 1 or more symptoms of Covid-19 or feels unwell, should not attend the festival. Please isolate and contact your GP or doctor. Do not attend if you are either, living with someone who has covid, or are awaiting a covid test, or have had a positive antigen test in the last 3 days.
TEMPERATURE CHECKS: The festival will have temperature monitoring stations at the festival.
THEATRE CAPACITY: While there is no government restrictions on venue capacity at present if audiences are masked, we are operating at 80% venue capacity for everyone’s comfort.
CO2 MONITORING: CO2 sensors are in use in the theatre to help monitor and optimise ventilation.
CONTACT TRACING: There is a contact tracing protocol in place, as we are required to retain your contact details on booking to assist with contact tracing, should it be required in the future. We can assure you that your information will always be protected by GDPR protocols.
