double Bill Of Improv
Stupid Improv 🇬🇧
Stupid is a daring new improv comedy duo made up of two idiots.
Inspired by audience suggestions, the pair of fast-thinking fools create funny scenes that thematically link while bouncing off one another. And—as the name suggests—things soon get ridiculous…
Not only do they make it up as they go along, they also swap and change characters within scenes while putting each other in as much trouble as possible. Watching the pair try to keep up with their own spontaneous creation only adds to the fun.
Stupid is a brand-new creation from The Atom Improv, Liverpool’s only American-style long-form improv comedy company. The show stars Al Donohoe and Mike Burton, who have performed together for the last five years.
About Us
Stupid is the brainchild of Mike Burton and Al Donohoe, two Liverpool-based improvisers.
Al has been doing improv for nearly a decade and trained with UCB, and has taken classes with The Free Association and WGIS. He’s also a teacher at Liverpool Media Academy and a working actor in TV and theatre.
Al founded The Atom Improv, Liverpool’s only American-style improv company, in 2021. In addition to putting on shows, the Atom aims to develop new teams and improve the quality of improv in the region with a focus on ‘game of the scene’ style play.
Mike Burton comes from a theatre and alternative comedy background but has always held a deep love of improvisation. He teache and performs regularly with The Atom and other companies in Liverpool.
The Jess’s’s’s 🇮🇪🇺🇸
About Us
The Jess’s’s’s are Jessica Keith and Jessamyn Fairfield, a theatrical improv duo who have performed across Ireland and the UK including at the Edinburgh Fringe, Dublin Fringe, Improv Fest Ireland, Moth and Butterfly Festival, Gather Improv Festival, Belfast Improv Festival, and the Hoopla UK and Ireland Improv Festival. They have been performing together for eight years, and create improvised one act plays with nuanced world-building and characters you care about.
"Ireland's most joyous and highly regarded twoprov duo"
"Like a more absurd TJ & Dave"
“Jess’s’s’s are expert at exploring the odd little distances that can exist between people (or forest creatures or geological features) that actually might care about each other very much. Through a varied cast of characters they explore awkward feelings and the mechanics of love, all while displaying true affection for the human (or animal or geological) condition.”
