“SPEED: SKILLS, DRILLS, AND PLAYING WITH PRECISION”
courtney pong
saturday 3rd october: 1:30pM - 4:30PM
Speed is not required to do improv, and it's not about speaking quickly, acting frantically, or moving recklessly; it's simply a tool - and a powerful one. For improvisers pursuing any form or format, speed - when used with precision and intention - can showcase skills that convey competence, demonstrate confidence, honor formats and games to make them pop, increase the Wow! Factor in front of your audience, and usher in the ability to modulate energy, individually and as a team.
Who is this workshop for? If you:
Like being challenged
Want to command a room or stage with ease
Find your toes on the side of the stage, hesitating more than you’d like
Are looking to add to your improv tool belt for a versatile and diverse mix of skills
Wish your scenes got off of the ground faster
This 3-hour intensive workshop will have you up on your feet getting reps in while working on the skills that build a resilient and engaging improviser.
Taught by ComedySportz Boston Artistic Director and owner/founder of The Rozzie Square Theater Courtney Pong, you’ll glide through a wide variety of warm ups, exercises, and scene tools that build your improviser tool belt, while utilizing games for ample amounts of practice in a focused, supportive environment.
